She Wears It Well was inspired by the author’s conversation with other women while at a prayer retreat in May of 2008, about how a single woman carries herself and exudes confidence, when she is secure in her relationship with God. While contemplating what it truly means to wear it well, the title She Wears It Well came to mind. The original version of the book was published by Hill-Jones (2009) which featured a cover design created by Keith D. Shepherd, a well-known illustrator and designer. A limited quantity was printed, as part of an author showcase at a women’s event in 2009- all 200 copies sold!

In the meantime, a new version of the book’s design was underway with Mill City Press, a self-publishing company, to gain a wider audience. Due to the success of the author showcase at the women’s event, She Wears it Well became the theme of the 2010 Gathering of Pearls (GOP) Women’s Conference in Kansas City, Missouri. As the focal point of the women’s conference, She Wears It Well: 12 Essential Qualities of God’s Contemporary Single Woman (2010), experienced overwhelming support from women of different backgrounds and seasons in life. As a result of the book’s success, a slight change was made in the subtitle to become, She Wears It Well: 12 Essential Qualities of God’s Contemporary Woman (2012).

And now, just over a decade later, this literary work continues to evolve and positively impact the lives of women of all ages and stages of life. She Wears It Well: Essential Qualities of the Woman God Designed You to Be (2021) was released on bookseller platforms as of November 1, 2021, and is sure to gain mass appeal to every woman who truly desires to wear it well!
